Travis Scott partners with AP: Chocolate-brown ceramic Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar

Intro to the Audemars Piguet & Travis Scott Collaboration

Audemars Piguet has partnered with Houston-born rapper Travis Scott and his record label Cactus Jack to release a new watch. The collaboration has resulted in the creation of the "Cactus Jack" LE, a limited-edition Royal Oak perpetual calendar watch. This partnership marks a significant moment in Swiss watchmaking, bringing together high-end horology and popular culture. Probably this will be perceived by the public as a more reasonable and appealing collaboration than the previous one with Marvel for the Spiderman concept.A portion of the profits from this collection will be donated to a charity chosen by Travis Scott.

Aesthetics

The "Cactus Jack" LE watch exhibits a 41mm chocolate brown ceramic case with white gold hexagonal screws and a sapphire dial.

This reveals the openworked Calibre 5135 movement, blending rhodium-toned components with pink-gold hues.

Unique design elements include Travis Scott's hand-drawn typography for calendar and week indications and a moonphase display featuring the Cactus Jack smiley face, which glows blue in the dark. The watch is complemented by a new textured calfskin leather strap with a pink gold folding clasp, engraved with both Audemars Piguet and Travis Scott's signatures.

Movement

The heart of the watch is the Calibre 5135, a self-winding movement offering a 40-hour power reserve. It has a diameter of 29mm, a thickness of 4.5mm, and operates at a frequency of 2.75 Hz. This complex and exciting caliber powers functions like the perpetual calendar with week indication, day, date, astronomical moon, month, leap year, and hours and minutes. It's crafted with 38 jewels and exhibits intricate detailing and superior craftsmanship.

Availability & Pricing

The "Cactus Jack" LE watch is priced at approximately €186,000 (converting the announced $201,000 to Euros). It is available exclusively at Audemars Piguet boutiques and limited to just 200 pieces worldwide. In a nutshell, it will be pretty impossible to get for the average Joe. Alongside the watch, a collection of clothing and accessories including hoodies, T-shirts, jackets, pajamas, shorts, and caps, are sold exclusively online. The latter, will be probably quite easier to purchase.
