TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Team Ikuzawa

Legendary racing legacy merged with Japanese urban fashion in a new timepiece by TAG Heuer

Some history about Ikuzawa

In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Tetsu Ikuzawa emerged as a paramount figure in Japanese motorsports. He became one of the first Japanese racers to shine in European motor racing, taking the wheel as a factory racer for Porsche, Ikuzawa raced from Le Mans to Suzuka. Even so, his legacy can't be adequately covered in our brief article about the new watch by TAG.

Thanks to Mai's (his daughter) expertise in fashion and design, the Team Ikuzawa legacy continues.

Aesthetics

The watch is a classic Carrera chronograph, sized 42mm by 14.3mm. It offers 100m water resistance and boasts a stainless steel bracelet, accompanied by a fabric strap marked with "Team Ikuzawa" in red, secured with a velcro fastening. The standout feature is the white and red dial inspired by the team's color scheme where the Team Ikuzawa logo dominates the viewer's attention.

Upon seeing the watch, we get a seamless allure of timeless design, racing history, and modern fashion.

Only 100 pieces will be available for Japanese boutiques and for the TAG Heuer's Japanese online store. Fans from around the world may need to plan a trip to Japan to buy one. Price may not be a problem (€6,200) but given the popularity of Mai and her father in Japan, we recommend you to be quick if you fancy one.
