OMEGA'S new WHITE DIAL SPEEDMASTER released

Omega, world-known for its associations with space exploration, has unveiled a new iteration of its iconic Speedmaster Moonwatch. Historically characterised by its black dial, the Speedmaster has been a staple of Omega's collection, with few variations straying from its traditional appearance.

Daniel Craig—best known for his portrayal of James Bond and his preference for the Seamaster in the role—was seen sporting a previously unseen white-dialed version of the Moonwatch at a recent event in New York.

This sighting hinted at a new direction for the Speedmaster line, leading to the official announcement of the white dial Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional as a permanent addition to Omega's collection.

Aesthetics

The Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional White Dial distinguishes itself through its unique aesthetic choices. The new reference maintains the integrity of the original design while introducing a new visual language that offers a fresh take on the classic design.

The watch features a stainless steel case, 42mm in diameter, with a glossy, lacquered white dial that offers a stark, vibrant contrast to its black-dialed predecessors. Red accents add a subtle burst of color, reminiscent of the Speedmaster's adventurous spirit and its historical ties to space exploration, particularly the Alaska Project models. The watch's bezel sports the classic style on a black anodised aluminum insert, maintaining the Speedmaster's iconic look.

Omega offers the watch with a choice of a stainless steel bracelet or alternative strap options, including a black micro-perforated leather strap with red and white stitching and an anti-bacterial rubber strap featuring a moon surface pattern for enhanced comfort and aesthetics.

Movement

At the heart of the white dial Speedmaster Moonwatch is Omega's in-house calibre 3861, a direct evolution of the classic 1861 movement. This mechanical marvel is equipped with a co-axial escapement and boasts Master Chronometer certification, ensuring anti-magnetic properties and precision within a 0/+5 seconds/day range. The movement retains the beloved features of its predecessors, including a hand-wound cam-operated chronograph with a horizontal clutch.

Availability & Pricing

The Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional White Dial has been launched as part of the brand's permanent collection and is now available for purchase from boutiques and ADs. You can buy it for  €9,000 on the stainless steel bracelet and €8,600 on the two strap options.
