Louis Moinet's Global Odyssey: The "Around the World in Eight Days" collection

Louis Moinet is not just a brand; it's a portal to the past, embracing the future of high-end watchmaking.
Since its foundation in 2004, Atelier Louis Moinet has committed to merging art with mechanical sophistication in Saint-Blaise. Known for drawing inspiration from celestial and deep-sea explorations, as well as the adventurous tales of Jules Verne, Louis Moinet excites the imagination and evokes wanderlust.
The latest "travel package" concept by founder Jean-Marie Schaller offers a unique collectible set: "Around the World in Eight Days," featuring eight distinct timepieces that celebrate eight influential cities across the globe, housed in a luxurious, historically-inspired presentation.

Aesthetics

Each watch in the collection is a testament to the artisanal mastery and aesthetic vision of Louis Moinet. Housed in 40.7mm cases of 18k 5N rose gold with titanium interiors, the watches showcase métier d'art dials crafted by the renowned GVA Cadrans. These dials feature a flying tourbillon at 6 o'clock that mimics the Earth’s rotation, enhancing the visual allure of the watches.

  • New York: Features a holographic skyline on a sapphire crystal, with the Statue of Liberty illuminated by varying colours.
  • Paris : Features a hand-engraved Eiffel Tower on a map-puzzle dial of 81 pieces, made from an actual beam of the tower.

  • Kuala Lumpur: Highlights the Petronas Towers on a silicon dial with microelectronic patterns reflecting the city’s tech-driven atmosphere.

  • Singapore: Captured with straw marquetry, featuring landmarks like Marina Bay Sands against a vibrant backdrop.
  • Abu Dhabi: Boasts a miniature painting of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque on a rock crystal base, set against a painted crescent moon.

  • Tokyo: Showcases a metallic paper origami crane on an aventurine base, symbolizing longevity, with Mount Fuji and cherry blossoms.
Bangkok: The dial illustrates the city's waterways with a labyrinth design and a floating market scene.
  • San Francisco: The dial includes a silicon wafer pattern with the Golden Gate Bridge prominently displayed, reflecting the city's tech influence.

These artistic interpretations not only represent the cities but also tell a story through their intricate details and innovative materials.

    Movement

At the heart of each timepiece lies the calibre LM135, a manually wound movement with a tourbillon. The movement is equipped with 26 jewels and a double spring barrel, allowing for a 96-hour power reserve.

    Availability & Pricing

The "Around the World in Eight Days" collection is limited to only eight unique sets. Each set is presented in a custom leather-covered wooden trunk with a fleur-de-lys monogram and an antique world map from 1786, enhancing its collectible value. As you could expect, the price is available only upon request.
