Tissot Seastar Wilson WNBA Powermatic 80: Swiss precision & sports

Tissot is a subsidiary of the Swatch Group and a leader in the watchmaking industry because they offer high-quality mechanical watches at accessible prices. The brand continues to innovate with its latest release, the Tissot Seastar Wilson WNBA Powermatic 80. This model celebrates a unique three-way collaboration between Tissot, Wilson Sporting Goods Co., and the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), aligning with the WNBA draft. This partnership underscores the brand's significant role as the official timekeeper for both NBA and WNBA.

Aesthetics

This new watch design is inspired by the dynamics and colors of professional basketball. The watch features a 40mm diameter stainless steel case, brushed for a matte finish with a sportier appearance. The unidirectional rotating bezel is designed for diving, colored in black with an orange countdown area, reflecting the official colors of the WNBA’s Wilson basketball. The black dial is finely brushed and includes luminous orange hands and indices coated with Super-LumiNova for optimal visibility. The watch comes with two interchangeable straps made from Evo-NXT Premium Composite, mirroring the material used in Wilson's official WNBA basketballs, complete with a quick-release system for easy swapping.

Movement

At its heart is the innovative Powermatic 80 calibre, an upgraded version of the ETA 2824-2. This automatic movement offers an impressive 80-hour power reserve. Enhanced with a Nivachron anti-magnetic hairspring, the movement ensures greater reliability and precision, making it a standout choice for both casual wearers, basketball players, and professional divers. The silhouette of a basketball on the see-through caseback adds a personalized touch that any basketball fans out there will appreciate.

Availability & Pricing

The Tissot Seastar Wilson WNBA Powermatic 80 is priced at €795. A pricing  point that reflects commitment to accessibility without compromising on quality. It is available as a special yet non-limited edition and can be purchased directly from their website or at stores. Additionally, a quartz variant with a white dial is also available, offering a different aesthetic choice for enthusiasts.
