Louis Erard Régulateur x Cédric Johner
Louis Erard known for making high-end watchmaking accessible, boasts a collection that includes partnerships with notable figures like Alain Silberstein, Konstantin Chaykin, and Vianney Halter. These collaborations bring bespoke and handcrafted elements, such as marquetry or guilloché dials, to a broader audience at reasonable prices. Their latest release, the Louis Erard Régulateur x Cédric Johner, continues this tradition by merging the expertise of independent watchmaker Cédric Johner with Louis Erard's distinctive design.
Aesthetics
The Louis Erard Régulateur x Cédric Johner offers a unique aesthetic that reflects the craftsmanship of both Johner and the Louis Erard. The watch features a classic regulator-dial layout within a 39mm polished stainless steel case. However, the dial presents an optical illusion, appearing hexagonal due to a domed hexagonal sapphire crystal. This design is inspired by Johner's first watch, the Abyss, from 1997, which had a hexagonal dial opening. The watches are available in either a mauve or blue PVD dial with sunray patterns that emulate traditional guilloché finishes. The sub-dials are anthracite-colored, concave, and exhibit a circular satin-brushed finish. These watches are fitted with either a grey or black grained calfskin strap which work very well when it comes to enhancing their bespoke vibes.
Movement
The heart is the Sellita SW266-1 élaboré grade automatic movement which offers a 38-hour power reserve. Cédric Johner's personal touch is evident in the specially decorated rotor, adorned with 230 hand-applied beads.
