IAMWATCH 1st edition happening in OCTOBER 2024

The Hour Glass role

Singapore is set to host an unparalleled watchmaking event, IAMWATCH, a event  by The Hour Glass that will bring together the Pan-Asian watch-collecting community through face-to-face engagements and over 40 distinguished figures from the watchmaking industry.

The Hour Glass already launched in 2004 “Tempus—The Great Watchscapade” one of the first watch expositions for aficionados. 20 years later, IAMWATCH is poised to become a new platform to appreciate the passion, knowledge, and stories of the watch enthusiasts community.

The event

It kicks off with a private view by invitation only on Thursday 17th October. The event will then open to the public from Friday 18th October until Sunday 20th (10am-8pm). Unexpectedly, admission is free.

The 4-days event will offer panels, horological lectures, and various community activities. There will be a diverse group of horological experts to create a vibrant atmosphere and to fuel an exchange of ideas and insights.

Watch Connect Singapore will be hosted at the newly opened Singapore EDITION hotel, located at the upper end of Orchard Road. The hotel’s design blends sophistication with lush tropical fauna, mirroring Singapore’s reputation as a city in a garden. Embracing the event’s casual and inclusive spirit, the dress code is ‘Double-wristed, Resort casual,’ encouraging attendees to proudly wear watches on both wrists.

Participants of this first edition

It is worth mentioning that some of the CEOs of renowned independent brands will be there such as Benoît Mintiens of Ressence, Maximilian Büsser of MB&F, Felix Baumgartner of Urwerk, Pierre Jacques of De Bethune, and Rexhep Rexhepi. Raúl Pagès, the master of regulator timepieces and the first winner of the LVMH Watch Prize, along with Jean Arnault, the brand new Director of Louis Vuitton’s Watch division.

In addition to these well-known individuals from the independent watchmaking scene, the event will also feature industry leaders like Aurel Bacs and Tiffany To of Phillips Watches, and Revolution’s Eléonor Picciotto and Wei Koh.

The full list of participating watchmakers and industry follows:
