The New Raymond Weil Freelancer Collection
The Swiss watchmaker, continues to expand the Freelancer collection. This collection, initially dedicated to free-spirited individuals, now introduces a refreshing twist with square cushion-shaped cases and a proprietary RW 1212 calibre. Let's dive into these 4 exciting new additions to the Freelancer series.
Aesthetics
Modern Aesthetics Meets 1970s Vibes in the Freelancer Square Case. The Freelancer 2790 models come housed in a 40mm and 10.5mm thick, while the women’s 2490 is 34.5mm and 9.3mm. Both come in a square stainless steel case with a water resistance of up to 100 meters
The square case design, with its rounded edges, offers a modern aesthetic reminiscent of the 1970s. The gradient blue or green dials, protected by sapphire crystal with double-sided AR coating, add a touch of sophistication.
The minute track transitions from dark at the periphery to a softer color towards the center, complemented by nickel-plated indices and minute markings. Super Luminovas ensures optimal visibility for the two nickel-plated hands and indices. Notably, an open balance wheel at 6 o'clock in the 2 men references adds a unique visual highlight and running indicator to these time-only models.
Movement
The proprietary RW 1212 movement, a collaborative effort with Sellita, takes its name from the postal code of Raymond Weil's headquarters in Geneva. With 27 jewels and a 28,800vph frequency, this movement incorporates Incabloc for shock protection and an Etachron-type regulator system. Its defining feature is the oscillating balance wheel visible through the dial, inspired by the RW 1842 tourbillon movement. The transparent caseback reveals the well-finished movement, complete with an open-worked W-shaped ball-bearing rotor, offering a 38-hour power reserve.
The new square case comes with blue or green dials, on either a jubilee-style steel bracelet or a genuine black or green calf leather strap. The clasp employs a double push-security system,
Availability & Pricing
