The New Montblanc 1858 Minerva Monopusher Chronograph With Collective Horology
Montblanc, in collaboration with Collective Horology, has announced a few days ago the launch of a new watch: the 1858 Minerva Monopusher Chronograph, named the "Blue Arrow" P.05. Collective Horology is renowned for creating collaborative timepieces and retailing select independent brands in the US.
Aesthetics
The "Blue Arrow" P.05 is a 42mm steel-cased watch that shows iconic features of Minerva chronograph design, including the classic Minerva logo and the rotating blue timing arrow.
The latter is controlled by an 18K white gold fluted bezel crafted for easy operation by gloved pilots. Vintage-inspired touches that are easily spotted. yellow sub-dials and blue scales adorn the white lacquered dial, inspired by vintage Minerva stopwatches. The display shows a a 30-minute chronograph counter and a running seconds counter.
Additionally, the dial carries dual signatures of Montblanc and Minerva.
Movement
It is powered by the hand-wound MB M13.21 movement, the modern iteration of the iconic Minerva Calibre 13.20, which is visible via a transparent caseback. Nearly every component of this movement was crafted in-house in Villeret. Notably, it has a 60-hour power reserve, a screw balance with a Philips curve, and Rhodium-coated German silver bridges, adorned with Côtes de Genève, circular graining, and hand-chamfered edges.
