Article: The luminous Kollokium Projekt 01 Variant F

Presenting

The luminous Kollokium Projekt 01 Variant F

Brand Intro

Kollokium is a forward-thinking watchmaking collective founded in 2020 by Manuel Emch, Barth Nussbaumer, and Amr Sindi (aka The Horophile). Unlike traditional brands, Kollokium operates as a creative platform unconstrained by commercial or stylistic expectations. It aims to challenge conventional notions of watch design and branding in horology, focusing on radical aesthetics and user experience rather than luxury.

Aesthetics

The Projekt 01 Variant F continues the neo-brutalist language of the Projekt 01 series that we like, with a two-part 40mm case crafted from die-cast 316L stainless steel. This gives the watch an industrial look, yet reviewers claim that it feels unexpectedly smooth to the touch. A box-shaped sapphire crystal accommodates t herevised hand stack, increasing the height to 11.95mm. The violet dial surface features a matte metallic finish providing an evolving color experience under different light conditions.

The major innovation lies in the Lichtblock dial: 488 lume-filled ceramic-resin cylinders emit a rare violet Super-LumiNova glow, breaking away from previous pixel-like layouts with more organic, radial arrangements. Matching luminous inserts have been added to the redesigned hour and minute hands, while the seconds hand retains its signature openworked look.

A warm grey textile strap completes the informal look.

Movement

The watch is powered by the La Joux-Perret G101 automatic movement. Known for its  strong power reserve, this caliber runs discreetly beneath a solid caseback, in keeping with Kollokium’s focus on the dial's visual impact and tactile experience over movement decoration. I reckon the brand deliberately omits display casebacks to keep attention on the external form and function.

Availability & Pricing

The Kollokium Projekt 01 Variant F is limited to 399 pieces, priced at CHF 3,666.66 (excluding VAT) — approximately €3,750 at current exchange rates. Sales will open in two phases:

  • Early Access Sale: This exclusive window begins today, June 11, 2025, at 15:00 CEST, and is reserved for brand subscribers. Over 60% of the total units have been allocated to this Early Access as a token of appreciation to loyal supporters. During this phase, the Kollokium website will be locked behind a password, and the watch will appear as “sold-out” until the sale officially opens. Customers can access the site using a password received via email. Purchases are limited to one watch per person, and multiple orders will be canceled.

  • Public Sale: If you miss the early phase, the remaining pieces will be available during the official public release tomorrow on June 12, 2025, at 15:00 CET, also through kollokium.com and select retail partners.

I recommend to act quickly...Demand is expected to be high for this one.
