The latest Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon comes with a blue Enamel dial
Jaeger-LeCoultre, renowned for its sophisticated and ultra-thin dress watches, continues to expand its Master Thin collection. This range features an array of styles, from simple time-and-date models to more complex offerings like tourbillons and perpetual calendars. The brand's commitment to craftsmanship was highlighted when it introduced métiers d’art dials in late 2018, starting with the Master Ultra Thin Moon model. These dials, showcasing hand-guilloché work, brought a new level of sophistication to the collection.
Aesthetics
The new Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon Enamel is a testament to the brand's artistry. Its striking sunray hand-guilloché dial, set in a captivating new shade of blue, demonstrates exceptional attention to the finest details. Each of the 180 sun rays radiating from the dial's center seems meticulously aligned and evenly spaced, achieved through the skilled hand of the master guillocheur. The Grand Feu enamel, applied in layers and kiln-fired at 800ºC, adds depth and vibrance to the dial.
Aesthetically, the watch features elongated indices, gold-coloured Dauphine hour and minute hands, and a significant aperture at 6 o'clock for the tourbillon, all complemented by a fully polished pink gold case. It comes with a blue alligator strap matched with a pink gold folding clasp.
Movement
The heart of the Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon Enamel is the in-house automatic calibre 978. This movement, introduced in 2009 and updated in 2019, is housed in a lightweight titanium cage and boasts a 45-hour power reserve. It consists of 271 components and 33 jewels, operating at 28,800vph. The polished and frosted openworked rotor, visible through the sapphire crystal back, showcases the Geneva stripes and other details of the movement.
