The Kari Voutilainen Tourbillon 20th Anniversary celebrates his first Watch

Kari Voutilainen is a well-known figure in independent watchmaking. For reference, ten watches by Voutilainen were awarded The Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève. He has released the Tourbillon 20th Anniversary watch to celebrate the 2 decades of existence of his brand.

This piece also pays homage to his first watch, a tourbillon pocket watch that was manufactured in 1994. With over three decades of experience, the new timepiece encapsulates his watchmaking journey and commemorate the craftsmanship that has defined his work and career.

Aesthetics

The Voutilainen Tourbillon 20th Anniversary watch features a 40mm case available in 950 platinum, 18k white gold, 18k rose gold, and a unique stainless steel piece. The design nods to Voutilainen’s original 1994 pocket watch. The dial is made from solid silver and showcases intricate hand-guilloché patterns that can be customised in various motifs and colors.

This is actually quite cool as enthusiasts can make their watch unique according to their taste. The display includes Breguet numerals enhancing its classic appeal.

Movement

At the heart of the Tourbillon 20th Anniversary is the new calibre Tourbillon 22, a hand-wound movement inspired by Voutilainen’s original pocket watch. The movement ensures 72 hours of power reserve and the tourbillon is visible through the caseback.

The movement is meticulously finished with hand-polished bevels, black polished steel parts, and a hand-engraved Voutilainen signature.

This includes 20 pieces each in platinum, white gold, and rose gold plus a unique one in stainless steel.
