The Grand Seiko 62GS Hi-Beat SBGH317 (Ginza-Exclusive)
Grand Seiko releases the GS Heritage 62GS Hi-Beat SBGH317, a exclusive timepiece that is deeply connected to the Ginza district in Tokyo, a significant area for Seiko and Grand Seiko. The district, known for its luxurious shopping and historical significance, houses the brand's flagship boutique and has been the location for other exclusive Seiko and Grand Seiko releases.
Aesthetics
The new SBGH317 features a unique light purple dial with two textures: a sunray-brushed pattern and a Ginza grid pattern. The design captures the essence of Ginza's winter light and architectural layout.
The 62GS case, made of stainless steel with Zaratsu polishing and brushed surfaces, measures a very versatile 40mm. It's topped with a box-shaped sapphire crystal, enhancing its retro charm. The dial's design, with highly detailed hands and markers, complements the overall aesthetic.
Movement
The pumping heart of this watch is the in-house high-frequency calibre 9S85. This movement operates at 36,000 vibrations per hour, offering a 55-hour power reserve and an accuracy of -3/+5 seconds per day.
The sapphire case back is decorated with the brand's lion logo and a Ginza inscription, showcasing the caliber's mechanical details.
