Richard Mille & Rafa Nadal: The 27-05 Flying Tourbillon celebrates 14 years of collaboration
Richard Mille has launched the RM 27-05 Flying Tourbillon Rafael Nadal, commemorating 14 years of collaboration with our fellow Spaniard and tennis legend. Just 80 units for the whole world that exemplify the brand’s commitment to technically advanced watches.
Aesthetics
The RM 27-05 Flying Tourbillon features a refined and minimalist design, diverging from the colourful references of previous Rafael Nadal editions. It only weights 11.5 grams without the strap.
The case is crafted from Carbon TPT® B.4, a material initially developed for Formula 1. From what I have been reading, this composite is denser and stiffer than the standard Carbon TPT that they use in other references, allowing for finer machining and greater structural integrity.
The watch dimensions are 37.25mm x 47.25mm with an impressive slim 7.20mm thickness. The black textile bracelet complements the sleek, modern look and suits the case very well.
Movement
The RM 27-05 houses a manually wound RMUP-01 movement that weights only 3.79 grams (!!!), is 3.75mm thick and offers a power reserve of 55 hours.
The movement includes a flying tourbillon located in the bottom half of the dial. This light weight is achieved because the movement's bridges are made from titanium and Carbon TPT.
Availability & Pricing
Just 80 pieces will be manufactured and sold at approximately €1,075,000. Needless to say that it will be pretty tough to get one of these.
