Panerai Radiomir Officine ref PAM01385

Panerai has had a vibrant 2023 filled with interesting releases. The brand takes a step back to its roots with the unveiling of the Panerai Radiomir Officine PAM01385 in stainless steel, echoing designs from its 1935 prototype and reflecting the style of the influential watches commissioned by the Royal Italian Navy in the early 20th century. This timepiece also touches upon Panerai’s more recent past, drawing inspiration from late '90s and early '00s models, which are now considered by ourselves like neo-vintage classics. The release of the Radiomir Officine may pose the question of whether this new model lives up to the legacy of Panerai. We think it does!

Aesthetics

The watch shows a timeless Design with a Modern Touch This reference PAM01385 is presented in a 45mm polished stainless steel case, featuring a coffee-brown dial with a matte texture and beige Super-Luminova markers, paying homage to the 1935 vintage prototype. The design omits the “OP” (Officine Panerai) logo on the dial, giving space for the non-reflective texture to stand out. The aesthetic is clean and minimalist, with clear indications reminiscent of the original Royal Italian Naval designs. It retains the iconic cushion case shape, complemented by a cone-shaped crown. The watch is paired with a 27mm beige-stitched dark brown suede calfskin strap, creating a harmonious brown-dominant aesthetic.

Movement

The PAM01385 is powered by the hand-wound P.6000 caliber, offering a three-day power reserve, 21,600vph frequency, and an Incabloc anti-shock device. This robust movement ensures accurate timekeeping, driving the segmented hour hand, generously long minute hand, and leaf-shaped seconds hand. Despite its elegant appearance, the watch achieves a 100m water resistance rating, though the suede calfskin strap does not seem like an aquatic strap at all.

Availability & Pricing

The Radiomir Officine is limited to 300 pieces, priced at €5,500 and exclusively available through Panerai’s online boutique. This model seems like an accessible option for enthusiasts looking to own a a Panerai.
