Omega's Speedmaster Chronoscope for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games

Omega is once again asserting its role at the Olympic Games, this time for the 2024 edition in Paris, marking its 31st occurrence as the official timekeeper. The brand celebrates this by introducing two new versions of the Speedmaster Chronoscope: one in stainless steel and another in the luxurious 18K Moonshine yellow gold. These editions not only commemorate the games but also align with the grand opening ceremony, set uniquely at the Seine river, away from the traditional Stade de France. This release comes at a crucial time, precisely 100 days before the games begin.

Aesthetics

The Omega Speedmaster Chronoscope 2024 editions celebrate the Paris Olympic Games with distinctive design elements influenced by both the event and Omega's historical models.

The watches are available in stainless steel or in a striking and beautiful 18K Moonshine yellow gold. All feature a case diameter of 43mm, which provides a slightly broader but thinner profile compared to the traditional 42mm Professional Moonwatch.

The dials are painted in the black, white, and gold colors representing the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, with a silvery-white opaline main dial and circular-grained sub-dials. Numerals and hands are adorned in Moonshine Gold, enhancing their luxurious appeal. The bracelet options include a polished and brushed five-row bracelet with a micro-adjustment system or a simpler, sporty perforated calfskin leather strap.

Movement

The two editions are powered by the Omega hand-wound calibers 9908 and 9909 for the stainless steel and gold versions, respectively. These movements provide a 60-hour power reserve, are COSC certified before assembly and even undergo further METAS certification to ensure high precision standards (0 - 5 seconds/day). The movements are intricately decorated with "arabesque" Côtes de Genève yet hidden behind a commemorative Paris 2024 medallion on the case back.

Availability & Pricing

The new watches are available for purchase both online and in selected stores, offering options in both stainless steel and 18K Moonshine gold (our favorite!). Prices are as follows:

  • Stainless Steel on Bracelet: €10,900
  • Stainless Steel on Leather Strap: €10,500
  • 18K Moonshine Gold on Bracelet: €57,000
  • 18K Moonshine Gold on Leather Strap: €36,300
