Frederique Constant Highlife Worldtimer x Ace Jewelers Amsterdam

Ace Jewelers, a family-owned Dutch jewelry and watch retailer established in 1975, has partnered with Frederique Constant, a brand that shares Dutch roots because of its founders Aletta and Peter Stas, and the current CEO. The collaboration celebrates the city of Amsterdam, home to Ace Jewelers, through the creation of the Highlife Worldtimer, showcasing the city’s red, white, and black flag colors.

Aesthetics

The Frederique Constant Highlife Worldtimer x Ace Jewelers Amsterdam stands out with its modern and integrated design, breaking away from the brand's more classical offerings. The watch features a brushed and polished stainless steel tonneau-shaped case, measuring 41mm in diameter and 12.90mm in height, with a slim bezel and convex scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.

The back of the case is see-through, revealing the intricate movement inside. The dial boasts a matte, grainy black surface adorned with three red crosses beneath the brand name, inspired by Amsterdam’s city flag.

The applied indices and hands are treated with Super-LumiNova for better visibility, and the date indicator at 6 o’clock features a matte black background. The 24-hour ring is highlighted in red for nighttime hours and white for daytime, with Amsterdam replacing Geneva on the rotating city disc. The watch is complemented by a 3-link stainless steel bracelet, and an additional black rubber strap with red stitching is included too. Regardless of the specific colors, we cannot avoid remembering the new Patek Philippe 6007 that were released earlier in 2023.

Movement

The Highlife Worldtimer is powered by Frederique Constant’s in-house FC-718 automatic movement, boasting a 4Hz frequency and a 38-hour power reserve. The world time complication, developed by Louis Cottier in the 1930s, is seamlessly integrated, displaying local time along with a rotating 24-hour ring and the names of 24 cities representing different time zones. All functions, including hours, minutes, date, and the rotating city disc, are adjusted via the crown.

Availability & Pricing

The Frederique Constant Highlife Worldtimer Amsterdam is available exclusively at Ace Jewelers Boutique in Amsterdam and through the AceJewelers.com online shop. It is an instant collectible because this will be a limited run of 100 pieces and each of them is priced at €3,550+tax.
