Baltic Prismic Stone Limited Editions: A Celebration of Craftsmanship and Showrooms

Baltic, founded by Etienne Malec in 2017, started as a Kickstarter project and quickly captured the global attention of enthusiasts with its vintage-inspired designs at affordable prices. Since its humble beginnings with the BICOMPAX 001 and HMS 001, this microbrand has grown into a respected name in the industry, boasting 11 collections and 48 different models. I must confess that I really appreciate their recent design and marketing efforts.

Known for its b2c strategy and a few retailers, the brand has successfully opened three showrooms in New York, Paris, and London, which are now celebrated with the three limited-edition Prismic Stone models that I am presenting in this article.

Aesthetics

The Baltic Prismic Stone watches feature unique stone dials in three very different colors: Green Jade for New York, Lapis Lazuli for Paris, and Red Agate for London.

The dials are carved from natural stones, giving each watch a special appearance, combinining visual intensity with elegance. The polished, applied hour markers and dauphine hands evoke a refined vintage feel, complemented by a lacquered finish that creates a visual illusion of floating markers. Housed in a 36mm stainless steel case with a titanium midcase.

Buyers can choose between a stainless-steel mesh bracelet, best suited for flatter wrists, or a calfskin strap for a more classic look.

Movement

Inside, the reliable ETA Peseux 7001 manual winding caliber offers a 42-hour power reserve. The movement is finished with diamond-polished bevels, Côtes de Genève striping, and blued screws.

Baltic has customised the movement for this collection, adding an engraved “Baltic Watches” detail on the ratchet wheel, visible through the sapphire caseback.
