A new Louis Vuitton Tambour watch, now in Ceramic
Louis Vuitton continues to build its presence in the watchmaking industry. Since LV introduced the Tambour collection in 2002, the model has undergone a transformation under Jean Arnault’s leadership, positioning it as a serious contender in the luxury sports watch niche. Now it is a core collection of the brand and the latest iteration in Ceramic seamlessly merges colouring tradition, movement innovation, and exclusive materials.
Aesthetics
The new Tambour in Ceramic displays an elegant combo of brown high-tech ceramic and rose gold, a color scheme that reminds me of Louis Vuitton’s heritage. Inspired by the brand’s iconic Monogram canvas, the watch features a 40mm case with a slim 8.3mm profile.
The bracelet is also composed of brown ceramic links supported by an internal rose gold structure. Each ceramic link is carefully brushed and polished, while a rose gold bar subtly enhances the two-tone aesthetic in between.
The dial showcases a stepped brown design with vertical brushing, sandblasting, complemented by rose gold indices and Super-LumiNova hands.
Movement
It is powered by the LFT023 automatic movement, developed in collaboration with Le Cercle des Horlogers, which is housed within a hidden rose gold container and visible through the sapphire caseback. Featuring a 22k rose gold micro-rotor and intricate finishing techniques like micro-sandblasting, the LFT023 is a certified chronometer by the Geneva Chronometric Observatory with a 50-hour power reserve.
Availability & Pricing
The Louis Vuitton Tambour Ceramic is not a limited edition and I expect that it will be quite easy to get at boutiques around the world. The price tag won't be that "easy "because the buyer will need around 75,000€ (including taxes).
