The Tuesday 24th of October marked the 29th anniversary of the A. Lange & Söhne brand rebirth. Every year, this means an exciting release from the saxon brand. In 2023, it is the "Zeitwerk Minute Repeater" in Honeygold, a blend of precision and luxury.

With a highly original design, it stands out as the only mechanical wristwatch that pairs a jumping numerals display with a decimal minute repeater. Following its predecessors, the platinum edition in 2015 and the white gold model in 2020, the brand now introduces a new limited run.

Aesthetics

The 44.2mm Honeygold case of the Zeitwerk Minute Repeater is a visual delight, blending polished and brushed surfaces that enhance its warm, elegant tone. Harder than platinum and other gold alloys, Honeygold proves challenging to shape and finish, making it all the more exclusive. Honeygold is a top-secret alloy unique to Lange, exhibiting a warm, liquid honey appearance. The grey dial features a signature rhodium-plated German silver time bridge, beveled apertures for the hours and minutes, and a small seconds counter.

The jumping numerals mechanism ensures a simultaneous advance of all three discs on the hour, while the power reserve indicator adds a functional yet aesthetically pleasing touch.

Movement

At the heart of this shiny Minute Repeater is the in-house Calibre L043.5, a manual-winding marvel composed of 771 parts and adorned with hand-engraved motifs and hallmark Glashütte ribbing. It operates at 18,000vph with a 36-hour power reserve.

The constant force escapement acts as a pacemaker, enabling the instantaneous advance of the discs in one-minute intervals. The elaborate safety and blocking mechanisms protect the movement, ensuring longevity and performance.It comes adorned with a dark brown hand-stitched leather strap and an 18k Honeygold and white gold deployant buckle.

Limited to just 30 pieces, the Zeitwerk Minute Repeater in Honeygold is available exclusively in the brand Boutiques, yet the price is only available upon request. For context, the 2020 white gold edition was tagged at EUR 449,000. We forecast a slightly higher, premium price point for this one.
