Wristonomy products review: The Watch Stand & Watch Roll

Enthusiasts' first world problem

Nearly every watch collector recognises that this passion starts with one piece but many new ones follow quite soon. After a few years of watch collecting, one usually possesses multiple watches and also rotates them daily depending on outfit, activity or just vibes.

Our passion requires finding where to put them all when not on the wrist. Many of you may place your most precious pieces in a safe but that is a different story. We are talking about where to place our daily beaters.

Needless to say that simply setting them on a desk, or bedside table does not do the job because there's a risk of scratching their back or accidentally knocking them over to the floor.

Wristonomy's response to the problem ( formerly The Watch Stand guys)

The Swedish guys at Wristonomy (they are based in Stockholm) developed a solution that we have been looking forward to testing thoroughly for some time!

In their own words, they aimed to bring a timeless design, artisan quality and top-class materials to watch accessories. And... it seems that they were pretty successful because they have roughly 15 thousand customers around the world.

So let´s dive in.

( This is not any paid promotion! )

Our honest thoughts on The Watch Stand

When we first saw these accessories in 2020, we thought these were a clever and elegant solution to store and display watches at home. Their very first stands date to late 2017 so they have most likely iterated on different prototypes to achieve the final model that we have with us. More specifically, we will review the "Duo Watch Stand"

  • Packaging: It came in a branded black box that looks robust and that makes you immediately think that there is a good quality product inside.
Moreover, once you open it, you also realise that it comes well protected to avoid damages and scratches. We appreciate that there was some effort put in designing the overall packaging but the fitting and protections inside.
There is a foam between the main cushion where the watches are intended to rest and the stand base that protects both.
  • Design and quality: In all honestly, we had good expectations for this product and it met them. You quickly realise the guys that made this like watches. The overall design works yet is really rather simple. The steel rod that joins the base feels solid and the marble in white carrera is heavy and robust. The Duo Stands weighted roughly 1kg when we checked it. It is constructed in a way that it cannot tip over unless you really push it.
It is not only the evident quality of construction but the thought behind its design that caught our attention. The soft cushion is slightly angled so that watches hold and stay put.

They claim this model features a genuine Italian leather cushion. We cannot confirm its origin but we can say it feels like real leather and smells that way. The rod seems like anodised steel and as can be seen in the picture below, it has a clean transition to the base and is attached stably.

  • Functionality: We tried a few watches and they all stayed nicely put on the soft leather cushion since it has a good grip. Given the substantial weight and robustness of the base, it felt always safe to put the watches. And, safety aside, it is also a very good solution to elegantly and minimalistically display your watches on desks, night tables or in living rooms. Enthusiasts will surely appreciate having a glance at their pieces whenever they feel like it. Look below at how nice our Rose Gold Day Date and Patek Nautilus looked resting on it.

Conclusions

If you like understated, effective and "low key" accesories, you will be satisfied with this one: The watches stay put, it allows you to display your places elegantly and safely, and it complements your decoration wherever you place the stand. Moreover, they have a few marble and material options for the base so that it fits seamlessly into different kind of home decors and lifestyles.
