Watch Straps by Wristbuddys.com | Review and testing with Rolex watches
Introduction
We were really looking forward to start reviewing different kinds of watch accessories and products, and the day has come.
In this article we discuss different straps by Wristbuddys.com and we selected a few Rolex watches for the job. Two GMT Masters ref.126710BLRO and ref. 126720VTNR, and the Submariner aka Starbucks ref.126610LV.
We reviewed several key factors such as the quality of rubber used to manufacture the straps, the design and fit precision for the case, the overall aesthetics, and our satisfaction as users.
Let's dive in.
Who are Wristbuddys?
These guys run an online store from Stockholm, Sweden. They sell affordable watch straps and other accessories to enthusiasts from all over the world. The company is not affiliated with any watch brands but they focus on producing straps for Omega, Rolex, Tudor, Tissot, and Swatch.

The Content
What did we get when we ordered from them? A tidy and well-prepared package. We ordered different straps for different models and a Bergeon tool that we could not recommend enough.
Do not be stingy. Please, get one of these tools if you plan to swap your steel bracelet for these rubber straps by yourself because you won't be disappointed. It may take some time to get used to it, but if you practice and follow some basic recommendations, you will soon realise it is very useful and effective.
We recommend taking a look at this guide in Youtube.
The tool is used to "move" and move the springs of the bolts that can be seen in the following picture.
Quality of Materials
Some of you may have been lucky enough to try Rolex Oysterflex straps (which is the obvious comparison given the models that we tested for this review) and it is quite hard to notice any difference in comfort or flexibility. These ones' is top-grade rubber and we have felt it testing the three straps that we ordered.
This choice of material seems to ensure durability, flexibility, and comfort. Moreover, its resistance to water and sweat also makes it a suitable and favorable option for enthusiasts who enjoy an active lifestyle.
Design and Fit Precision
When it comes to fitting luxury watches like the Rolex GMT Master II or the Submariner, precision is paramount. These Swedish guys have evidently invested in ensuring their straps are engineered with precision to fit the cases seamlessly.
There is no gap between the strap and the case itself, which is crucial for maintaining the aesthetic integrity of the watch. Additionally, the attention to the lug width and curve ensures that the straps integrate perfectly, mirroring the original design cues of these models.
Aesthetics and Compatibility
Rubber straps are quite effective if you want to provide a high-end wrist piece with a casual yet sophisticated look. They make them perfect for daily wear and work well if you aim to go low-key too.
All colors and styles that we have tried offered a good opportunity to personalise and refresh the look of each watch.
For instance, the vibrant color options can accentuate the unique bezel colors of the Rolex GMT Master II "Pepsi" and "Sprite" ref.126720VTNR, making the watches stand out even more.
Similarly, a classic black rubber strap with green stitching could complement the Rolex Submariner ref.126610LV, emphasizing its iconic green bezel. The matte finish of the rubber straps contrasted beautifully with the polished cases, providing a modern twist on a classic look.
User Satisfaction and conclusions
We appreciated the ease of installation, the comfort of wear throughout the day, and the transformative effect on the watch's appearance. These rubber straps offer some advantages over metal bracelets in warmer weather or during physical activity.
Wristbuddys stand out as an exceptional choice for those watch owners (beyond just Rolex) looking to diversify their watch's appearance without compromising on quality.
