Audemars Piguet, renowned for blending the art of traditional haute horlogerie with forward-looking (sometimes risky) innovations and design, has introduced a new collaboration with fashion designer Tamara Ralph. This partnership, formed in 2020, has now culminated in the creation of a special edition watch, the Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon “Tamara Ralph”.

The design of the Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon “Tamara Ralph” edition is a harmonious blend of boldness and futuristic elegance, characterised by its large, frosted gold case and a distinctive four-stepped dial. This edition stands out for its departure from the brand's traditional dial patterns, opting instead for a design that features repeating concentric circles emanating from the tourbillon. The watch’s color scheme is a unified golden theme, creating a cohesive appearance that balances masculine and feminine aesthetics. The case, dial, and strap all embrace various shades of gold.

Movement

At the core of the Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon “Tamara Ralph” lies the hand-wound cal. 2964 movement, which boasts a modern design with a 72-hour power reserve. This movement is noted for its superior design, particularly in how it allows the tourbillon cage at the six o'clock position to be fully visible, unobscured by motion work gears, and enhanced with sparkling diamonds. The movement's design reflects the watch's overall aesthetic, featuring strong, clean concentric lines on the backsid.

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon “Tamara Ralph” is a limited edition piece, with only 150 units available worldwide for purchase exclusively at AP Houses and boutiques. The watch features a 38.5 x 11.9 mm case in 18k pink gold, water-resistant to 20 meters, and comes with an alligator strap with an 18k gold folding clasp.
