Breitling's redesigned Avenger collection
The Breitling Avenger collection, which first took to the skies in the early 2000s, has recently been revitalised with a sleeker design. This modern iteration comprises the Automatic 42, GMT 44, and the flagship B01 Chronograph 44. These updated models retain the collection's aviation spirit and robust construction while integrating a more contemporary aesthetic in line with the recent shifts in Breitling's broader range.
Aesthetics
Breitling's latest Avenger watches boast a refreshed streamlined Design and refined details with more nuanced cases and dials. The pic below is the Avenger GMT 44.
The oversized Breitling logo and Arabic numerals have been supplanted by a simpler "B" and baton markers, emphasizing a more understated style. Stainless steel cases measure 44mm for the GMT and chronograph variants and 42mm for the three-hand automatic, slightly downsized from previous models. The cases are complemented by polished bevels and rotating bezels with detailed tabs. Each model is available in various dial colors, including blue, green, black, or sand, with options for steel bracelets or military leather straps.
Breitling has launched a "Night Mission" variant of their stainless steel chronograph, maintaining identical specifications but featuring a black ceramic bezel and casing, complemented by a choice of a black or yellow dial. The crown and pushers are crafted from titanium for this model.
Movement
At the heart of the Avenger B01 Chronograph 44 (pic below) lies Breitling's caliber B01, a COSC-certified movement known for its column wheel and vertical clutch design, boasting a 70-hour power reserve.
The Avenger GMT 44 is powered by the Breitling caliber 32, also COSC-certified, featuring an independently adjustable 24-hour hand and a 42-hour reserve. Lastly, the Avenger Automatic 42 operates with Breitling's caliber 17, an ETA caliber 2824-2 base, providing proven reliability and precision. All movements beat at 4 Hz and are encased within water-resistant structures up to an amazing 300 meters.
